Why Should I Go?

Known world-wide for their amazing xiaolongbao (小籠包 soup dumplings), Din Tai Fung is a very popular restaurant with many locations in Taiwan and abroad.

Originally opened in 1949 along Xinyi Road (信義路) next to the Taiwanese food mecca Yongkang Street (永康街), Din Tai Fung was a cooking oil merchant until the 1980s when they began selling xiaolongbao, eventually becoming so popular they became a full-fledged restaurant.

Din Tai Fung is also located in B1 of Taipei 101, and is a larger restaurant than the Xinyi Rd location. The 101 location also accepts credit cards, whereas the Xinyi Rd location only accepts cash.

Din Tai Fung was awarded one Michelin Star in 2009 at a Hong Kong location, and is one of the most well-known restaurants on the planet.

Check out our photos above for both Chinese and English-language menus.

In Taiwan, there are 7 branches in Taipei, and a branch in Hsinchu, Taichung, and Kaohsiung.

Abroad, Din Tai Fung has restaurant branches in Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Macau, mainland China, USA, Japan, Thailand, Indonesia, South Korea, Australia, and the UAE.
